Prepositions of time

Când îl folosim

1. at (ore, momente), on (zile, date), in (luni, ani, anotimpuri, părți ale zilei)

   • at 7 o’clock, at night, at the weekendla ora 7, noaptea, în weekend
   • on Monday, on 5 May, on my birthdayluni, pe 5 mai, de ziua mea
   • in May, in 2024, in summer, in the morningîn mai, în 2024, vara, dimineața

2. for (durată), since (început), during, by, until, before, after

   • I have lived here for ten years / since 2015.Locuiesc aici de zece ani / din 2015.
   • Finish the task by Friday. I will wait until Friday.Termină sarcina până vineri (cel târziu). Voi aștepta până vineri.

Prepositions of place

Când îl folosim

1. at (punct), in (spațiu închis), on (suprafață)

   • at the bus stop, in the room, on the tablela stația de autobuz, în cameră, pe masă

2. under, over, above, below, between, among, behind, in front of, opposite, next to, near

   • The cat is under the table, between the chairs.Pisica e sub masă, între scaune.
   • The bank is opposite the school, next to the park.Banca e vizavi de școală, lângă parc.

Prepositions of movement

Când îl folosim

1. to, into, out of, onto, off, through, across, along, past, towards, up, down

   • She walked into the room and out of the kitchen.A intrat în cameră și a ieșit din bucătărie.
   • Walk along the river and across the bridge.Mergi de-a lungul râului și peste pod.
   • The bus drove past the school, towards the centre.Autobuzul a trecut pe lângă școală, spre centru.

Dependent prepositions

Când îl folosim

1. Adjectiv + prepoziție

   • interested in, good at, afraid of, proud of, famous for, married to, tired of, different from, keen on, responsible forinteresat de, bun la, speriat de, mândru de, faimos pentru, căsătorit cu, sătul de, diferit de, pasionat de, responsabil pentru
   • I’m interested in history and good at maths.Mă interesează istoria și sunt bun la matematică.

2. Verb + prepoziție

   • listen to, look at, depend on, believe in, apologise for, laugh at, suffer from, insist ona asculta, a se uita la, a depinde de, a crede în, a-și cere scuze pentru, a râde de, a suferi de, a insista asupra

3. Substantiv + prepoziție

   • reason for, answer to, increase in, solution to, example of, interest inmotiv pentru, răspuns la, creștere a, soluție la, exemplu de, interes pentru
