Reported Speech: regulile de transformare din vorbirea directă în cea indirectă. Se schimbă timpurile, pronumele și cuvintele de timp și de loc.

4. Types of Sentences

Statements
Regulă: Folosim „that” + subiect + verbul schimbat.
Direct
- She said, "I like music."Ea a spus: „Îmi place muzica.”
Reported
- She said that she liked music.Ea a spus că îi place muzica.
Questions
Regulă: Verbul de raportare + cuvântul interogativ (dacă există) + subiect + verbul schimbat. Ordinea cuvintelor e cea a unei afirmații.
Direct
- He asked, "Where are you going?"El a întrebat: „Unde mergi?”
Reported
- He asked where I was going.El a întrebat unde mergeam.
La întrebările fără cuvânt interogativ (da/nu) se folosește „if” sau „whether”: He asked if I was tired.
Commands / Requests
Regulă: Verbul de raportare + to + verb (forma de bază).
Direct
- Mother said, "Please help me."Mama a spus: „Te rog, ajută-mă.”
Reported
- Mother asked me to help her.Mama m-a rugat să o ajut.
Exclamations
Regulă: Verbul de raportare + that + propoziție.
Direct
- She said, "What a beautiful day!"Ea a spus: „Ce zi frumoasă!”
Reported
- She exclaimed that it was a beautiful day.Ea a exclamat că era o zi frumoasă.

6. Quick Tips

1Scoate ghilimelele.
2Schimbă timpul verbului (dacă e nevoie).

5Alege verbe de raportare potrivite: said, asked, told, exclaimed, advised, requested etc.
